RITA MARIA HEY

Born on 19.05.1968 in Gerolstein, Germany, grew up in Euskirchen near Cologne. After graduating from high school and time at a dance school, she studies business administration with focus on the area of insurance in Cologne. Became acquainted with the philosophy of Karl Popper and his theory of falsification. Subsequently studies of history and the German language and literature in Cologne and Freiburg in Breisgau, focusing on economic issues and anti-Semitism research. During her time as a housewife and mother of two children – who are her greatest happiness - she is a guest student at the Jesuit College of Philosophy in Munich. There follow many years of dialogue with the Jesuit and sociologist Br. Dr. Michael Hainz SJ at the Institute for Social Policy. Creation of the texts "THOU" and "I Have a Dream" dedicated to him, as well as further prayer poems and letters from this encounter. Since 2011 she has worked as a lecturer for German as a foreign language in aid for migrants. Reflects as a feminist Catholic on the concept of "bliss" as understood by Boethius in "Consolation of Philosophy" and Thomas Aquinas. Sees great potential in the further development of Walter Eucken's "Foundations of Economics" into an approach to a gender-equitable, ecological, global social market economy. Favourite prayer, besides the dance “Fix Me Jesus” by
Alvin Ailey is the Lord´s Prayer.
